Rewheel Technical Assurance 2
Client: Pluspetrol Peru Corporation
Field (Type): Camisea (Gas & Condensate production; Onshore Peru)
Objectives:
The client wanted to rebundle two centrifugal compressors as part of the ongoing development of the asset to meet current duties (lower wellhead pressures)
The newly rebundled compression trains would move from 2 X 100% operation to 2 x 50% with load sharing
The client wanted a better understanding of the minimum pressure capabilities of the new compressor bundles.
The client wanted technical assurance support relating to the ability of the new compressor rewheels to meet specific suction pressure and mass flow requirements
The client also desired to establish the maximum flow capabilities of the new compressor bundles at a range of suction pressures
Challenge: The key driver for the rewheeling of two compression trains was the declining pressures of the Pagoreni reservoirs.
Our Engagement: Eta was engaged as Engineering Consultants because of its unique gas compression expertise and understanding of the client’s asset portfolio.
Approach: compressor performance analysis, modelling, and simulation
Stake: Inability to fully ascertain the maximum flow capacity of the revamped compressors at a variety of arrival pressures
Results:
The minimum suction pressure capabilities of the new compressor bundles based on expected in-service performance were successfully demonstrated for the benefit of the client
The maximum flow capacity of the new compressor rewheels for a range of duties was successfully demonstrated for the benefit of the client
