Special Studies for Turbocompressors – Study 2
Client: Pluspetrol Peru Corporation
Field (Type): Camisea (Gas & Condensate production; Onshore Peru)
Objectives:
The client wanted to carry out shaft power investigations of their existing export/sales gas compressor trains for commercial reasons
To provide technical support regarding the estimating of in-service shaft power of sales gas compression trains for the commercial benefit of Pluspetrol
Challenge: Third-party commercial and contractual relationships relied on accurate estimation/calculation of in-service shaft power of the sales gas compressors.
Our Engagement: Eta was engaged as Owner Engineer (Engineering Consultants) because of its unique gas compression expertise and understanding of the client’s asset portfolio.
Approach: in-service performance benchmarking, modelling, and simulation
Stake: Inability to accurately establish in-service shaft power performance of the sales gas compressors ran the risk of negatively impacting commercial relationships
Results:
Reasonable estimates for shaft power successfully calculated for a range of duty points for all the sales gas compression trains
In-service operating envelope of sales gas compression trains successfully established
Operational limits that will impact on production capacity successfully identified
Recommendations on how to improve the accuracy of shaft power estimates successfully provided
