Injection Enhancement Phase 2 Feasibility Study*
Client: Centrica Storage Limited
Field (Type): Rough (Gas Storage; Offshore & Onshore UK)
Objectives:
Following the previous successful injection enhancement project, the client wanted to explore the feasibility of further injection enhancements via minor and major operational and equipment modifications
The client needed support with the simulation and validation of the existing baseline deliverability of the asset
The client required help to identify potential injection debottlenecking opportunities
The client wanted a phased implementation roadmap to be recommended and prepared.
Challenge: The driver for this study was to maximise the injection capacity of the facility to improve project economics
Our Engagement*: We were engaged as Engineering Consultants because of our unique gas compression expertise and understanding of the client’s asset portfolio.
Approach: Methodology like Eta’s modgas™ process was used
Stake: Potential failure to get the best out of high value gas storage asset and consequent lack of economic benefits
Results:
Rigorous appraisal of enhancement and debottlenecking options successfully carried out
Successfully demonstrated that 23% increase in injection rates were feasible with various modifications
Successful development of indicative implementation roadmap
* NB: Some projects may have been performed by consultant in previous roles.
