Downhole Compression Technology Review
Client: Confidential
Field (Type): Not Applicable
Objectives: To review the current state of Downhole Gas Compression technologies in the oil and gas industry and recommend their feasibility for their assets
Challenge: The client operates fields that are remotely located in areas of significant biodiversity and therefore does not lend itself to distributed wellhead compression.
Our Engagement: Eta was engaged because of its unique gas compression expertise and understanding of the client’s asset portfolio.
Approach:
Literature reviews
Design reviews
Vendor engagement
Stake: DGC technologies could provide more benefits than wellhead compression without the large footprint of compression machinery at the well cluster. Mature DGC therefore presents an interesting option to their assets as it could potentially provide benefits such as delayed centralised compression schedule, reduced centralised compression footprint and better management of erosional velocities in well tubing and pipelines.
Results:
Received technical review of DGC development till date
Updates concerning the current state of DGC technologies provided
Screening of DGC technologies carried out
DGC projects and vendors reviewed
