ENAR Conceptual Compression Study*
Client: OGDCL (Oil & Gas Development Company Limited)
Field (Type): Qadirpur (Gas, Onshore Pakistan)
Objectives:
The client wanted to investigate field development options for gas compression include the deployment of used centrifugal compressors from a defunct site in tandem with existing reciprocating compression systems
The client wanted existing field development plans to be reviewed and improvements recommended
The client required support to carry out technical review of existing installation schedule of process gas compression units
The client desired support with carrying out technical analyses of future turbomachinery sparing philosophies
The client wanted to appraise gas compression field development options with a view to selecting the optimum and most effective approach.
The client required support to develop a comprehensive field development roadmap with the newly recommended development scheme
Challenge: The key driver for study was the declining reservoir pressures of the field.
Our Engagement*: We were engaged as Engineering Consultants because of our unique gas compression, field development and integrated asset modelling expertise.
Approach: Well performance modelling, Pipeline network flow modelling, Integrated asset modelling and simulation. Turbomachinery design reviews. Process engineering design.
Stake:
If action was not taken to select the optimum compression concept, declining reservoir pressures from the field could have led to significant loss of production/revenue.
Finally, without a rigorous conceptual study, a substandard legacy could have been selected with the consequent long-term technical and financial penalties of such a decision
Results:
An improved field development road map describing the optimum compression option (and its installation schedule) was successfully developed
The recommended approaches were demonstrated to enhance production
